🚨 Important Update: Facebook Will Delete Old Live Videos After June 24 — Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’ve been using Facebook Live to connect with your audience, now is the time to take action.

Facebook recently announced a major change to its video storage policy: starting February 19, 2025, all Facebook Live videos will only be saved for 30 days by default. After that, they’ll be automatically deleted from your Page, profile, and Facebook's servers.

But here's the part that requires urgent attention:👉 Any Facebook Live videos published before February 19 will be permanently deleted after June 24, 2025 — unless you download them before that date.

What’s Changing?

  • New Policy (Effective Feb 19, 2025): Facebook Live videos will only be stored for 30 days by default.

  • After 30 Days: Your live video will be automatically removed from your Page or profile and deleted from Facebook’s servers.

  • What You Can Do:

    • View, delete, or download any live video within the 30-day window.

    • For older content (before Feb 19), you have until June 24, 2025 to download and save it elsewhere.

Why This Matters

Many creators, brands, and businesses use Facebook Live to share everything from product demos and Q&As to virtual events and behind-the-scenes content. If you’ve built a content library of live videos on your Facebook Page or profile, this change could result in the loss of valuable content unless you act soon.

Whether for repurposing, archives, or nostalgia, this is your window to safeguard that content.

What You Should Do Now

  1. Go to your Facebook settings. Here’s the link to Facebook’s help page for step-by-step instructions.

  2. Review your Live video library.Identify any videos you want to keep, especially those published before February 19.

  3. Download the videos before June 24, 2025.

Pro Tip: Repurpose Before You Reupload

While you’re downloading, consider how you might repurpose that content—clip highlights, turn Q&A sessions into blog posts, or create social media snippets for other platforms.

If you’re someone who relies on Facebook Live for community engagement, don’t wait—this deadline is a big one.
